Who We Are
The Tigray Innovation, Science, and Technology Bureau (TISTB) is a governmental institution established to coordinate and promote innovation, scientific research, and technological development in the Tigray region. We serve as a bridge between researchers, innovators, industries, and the community to facilitate knowledge exchange and technological advancement.
Our bureau operates through several specialized directorates, each focusing on key areas of science, technology, and innovation. We support research activities, protect intellectual property, manage scientific data, promote radiation safety, and foster public engagement with science and technology.
Through strategic partnerships with academic institutions, industries, and international organizations, we aim to create an ecosystem that nurtures innovation, supports research excellence, and translates scientific discoveries into practical solutions for societal challenges.
Our Directorates
Scientific Data Management
Collects, stores, and disseminates scientific data from research activities. Provides a central repository for datasets, research papers, and reports while ensuring data security and compliance with international standards.
Intellectual Property Management
Protects innovations through patent and copyright registration, monitors IP registrations to prevent infringement, and supports the commercialization of research outcomes into marketable products.
Research and Development
Encourages scientific research by providing grants, monitoring projects, facilitating collaborations between academia and industry, and supporting the publication of research findings.
Corporation and Popularization
Builds partnerships with industries, organizes public outreach programs, hosts innovation competitions, and engages youth in science and technology through various programs and events.
Radiation Department
Conducts research on radiation technologies, develops safety standards and regulations, educates the public on radiation risks, and ensures compliance with national and international standards.
